SUMMARY:Enhancing Greenhouse Environment Management Training: A Usability 
 Study

 rlington)\n\nWith the scarcity of land and extreme weather changes, Contro
 lled Environment Agriculture (CEA) has become increasingly viable. However
 , the implementation of technology necessitates the need for safe and scal
 able training solutions in modern agriculture. This research developed a 2
 D desktop simulation and a 3D immersive virtual reality (VR) environment. 
 Trainees can explore different steps of crop production without the risks 
 and costs associated with real-world production. Forty-eight trainees (24 
 in 2D mode and 24 in 3D mode) completed the training and then independentl
 y performed crop production. Trainees' demographics, comfort with VR expos
 ure, usability of the platform as a training system, realistic immersion e
 xperience in the simulated environments, and task performance data were co
 llected to evaluate and compare both modes. Both modes were highly rated f
 or usability and comfort. The 2D version helped trainees perform better wi
 th its familiar setting and controls. However, the 3D version offered a mo
 re realistic immersion with slightly better motivation and engagement. The
 re was minimal influence from the demographic factors; users with prior ex
 perience in greenhouse systems reported greater ease navigating both envir
 onments. These results highlight the importance of well-designed simulatio
 ns in delivering effective and inclusive agricultural education that devel
