 ry)\n\nDue to increased demand for electricity, the United States is poise
 d to significantly increase its nuclear power capacity for the first time 
 in decades. With the advent of new nuclear power plants (NPPs) comes the o
 pportunity to deploy new technologies. New concepts of operations may feat
 ure human-system concepts like advanced information visualization, artific
 ial intelligence (AI) for prognostics and operator support, remote operati
 ons, reduced staffing, and increased use of automation. This paper present
 s a new levels-of-automation testbed in the form of a nuclear power simula
 tor that can vary those tasks performed automatically vs. manually by oper
 ators. This testbed fills an important research gap generally in systemati
 c ways to manipulate levels of automation. It also specifically provides k
