 eering)\n\nVR has emerged as a transformative tool for training and offers
  various hardware and software technologies allowing users to interact wit
 h synthetic environments to enhance learning outcomes. A systematic heuris
 tic evaluation of a virtual reality (VR) team training application designe
 d to assess and enhance team dynamics, was conducted to evaluate system us
 ability and effectiveness. The VR team training system is designed for mil
 itary trainees to learn effective and adaptive teamwork in a dynamic Casua
 lty Collection Point (CCP) scenario by performing interdependent team memb
 er roles. The evaluation was conducted using a combination of Sutcliffe an
 d Gault's VR heuristics and The Derby Dozen principles, while also incorpo
 rating Nielsen's foundational usability heuristics for severity ratings. T
 he evaluation allowed the team to identify several critical usability chal
 lenges that significantly impact the system's effectiveness. This highligh
 ts that within this critical step of heuristic evaluation and other human-
 centered evaluation processes, VR training systems may be ineffective or, 
 worse, detrimental to team training. Their use can save time and resources
  that can be redirected to improve the project.\n\n
