SUMMARY:A PRISMA Review of Human Pose Estimation Models for Ergonomic Risk
  Assessment and Workplace Safety
DESCRIPTION:Hari Iyer and Heejin Jeong (Arizona State University)\n\nThis 
 study presents a systematic review and meta-analysis of human pose estimat
 ion (HPE) applications for ergonomic risk assessment and workplace safety,
  following the PRISMA framework. Thirty-eight studies were reviewed to ass
 ess the effectiveness, usability, and limitations of HPE models such as Op
 enPose, MediaPipe, and AlphaPose in monitoring posture and identifying ris
 ks in occupational environments. The review found that HPE models facilita
 te non-invasive, real-time tracking of skeletal movements, supporting ergo
 nomic assessments in dynamic and unstructured settings. While promising, t
 hese models still face challenges related to occlusion, lighting variabili
 ty, and joint-specific accuracy. A meta-analysis revealed consistent impro
 vements in posture and reductions in musculoskeletal risk following ergono
 mic interventions. These findings suggest that integrating HPE with ergono
 mic evaluation tools can enhance workplace safety and worker well-being. F
 uture research should prioritize improving model efficiency and incorporat
 ing real-time feedback to support proactive ergonomic interventions and wi
