GS24: Navigating the Future of Patient Safety Progress
DescriptionThe future funding landscape of Patient Safety Research is uncertain with the recent disruptions to AHRQ, the VA Medical System, and just about all other federal agencies. How should we be moving forward? What are topics that are more likely to be funded? Less likely to be funded? What are other avenues for this research?
We convinced HFES that this will be an expert panel, but it is now much more than that. This is a working meeting where we will attempt to hear all of your voices, the challenges that you have, the solutions that you have already created, and the solutions that we, together, can craft to continue our progress on patient safety. Finally, how do we need to rethink the value proposition of patient safety research in this current climate, and how might we come out of this stronger?
Questions for attendees: What issues are you facing? How are you solving them? What do you bring to the table (seriously – what are you bringing to our potluck – ideas? Funding from your organization? Anything else?)
