Biography
Dr. Kari Congenie is a healthcare leader possessing over fifteen years of expertise in simulation. Her professional focus encompasses translational simulation, integrating human factors and systems-based methodologies to enhance patient safety. She is committed to leveraging critical frontline feedback to facilitate meaningful and sustained improvements in healthcare delivery. A results-oriented healthcare simulation specialist, Dr. Congenie excels in the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based best practices. Her expertise optimizes healthcare structures and processes, yielding demonstrable advancements in performance improvement, patient safety outcomes, quality of care, and overall healthcare effectiveness. As a founding member of a collaborative simulation consortium, Dr. Congenie played an essential role in the operationalization of multiple simulation centers while providing support and mentorship to colleagues across Illinois and Wisconsin. Dr. Congenie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois-Chicago, a Master of Science in Nursing from Elmhurst University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership and Management from Illinois State University. She holds CNL and CHSE certifications.
