Dr. Brian Green is the Senior Technical Advisor for Human Factors at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission where he helps to ensure the safe development and operation of nuclear reactors. He provides technical support to NRC human factors licensing experts, supports human factors research efforts, advises senior NRC managers, and supports international human factors activities.

Previously, as the Senior Human Factors Engineer & Team Lead, Brian managed a team of human factors experts who performed licensing reviews of nuclear power plant control room designs. His team ensured that human-system interfaces met applicable regulations, developed new regulations for advanced reactors, and issued technical guidance to support regulatory reviews.

Dr. Green earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in industrial engineering, specializing in human factors, at the University at Buffalo where he studied the effects of automation reliability on human trust. He also earned a B.A. in psychology and a B.S. in sound recording technology from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
