Nina Sutherland is a senior and will graduate with both a bachelor of arts in Psychology and a bachelor of science in Science, Technology, and Society with a minor in Graphic Communications in May of 2026. She began her studies at NC State after graduating with her Associate of Arts from Wake Technical Community College in the fall of 2023. In the summer of 2023, she assisted at the neurobiological Stein Lab through the EDGE Genomics program at UNC Chapel Hill. Starting in the fall of 2024, she has been an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. He’s Translational Vision Research Lab. Nina’s interest surrounds human-technology interaction especially with human health applications. She plans to go to graduate school and later work to take a human factors approach in improving the usability of assistive technology and medical devices.
