Dr. Julia Penfield is the Vice President of Research and Machine Learning at VelocityEHS, where she leads all AI-related initiatives. With over a decade of experience in developing advanced AI solutions, she brings deep expertise in applying machine learning to solve complex, real-world challenges. Her passion for safety is rooted in over two years of hands-on experience working in a hydroelectric power plant at the W.A.C. Bennett Dam in Canada. Dr. Penfield earned her PhD in the application of AI in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She holds 11 granted U.S. patents and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in leading scientific journals.
