Biography
Onur Asan, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Systems Engineering of Stevens Institute of Technology. He also holds the associate chair of graduate studies. He obtained his master's and PhD in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and also worked at a medical school as a faculty member. Dr. Asan’s research focuses on exploring sociotechnical transformation in healthcare settings using human factors and human-computer interaction approaches. More specifically, his work focuses on how health information technologies impact workflow, patient safety and patient outcomes. He has series of recent projects/publications focusing on AI design, trustworthy and explainable AI systems in healthcare.
