Edmond Ramly

Biography
Edmond Ramly, PhD is an Associate Professor and the inaugural Program Director for Design and Implementation Sciences in the Department of Health and Wellness Design at the Indiana University School of Public Health where he is also the Interim Director of the Center for Health by Design. Dr. Ramly is the Associate Director for Implementation Science at the Indiana Clinical and Translational Science Institute as. His drive is to turn science into health by using his dual expertise in implementation science and human factors & systems engineering. Dr. Ramly's research program develops and tests innovative methods for the human-centered design and implementation of systems interventions to improve health outcomes and care experiences among older adults and patients experiencing multiple chronic conditions in ambulatory and long-term care settings. Dr. Ramly’s 15+ years of research on organizational and digital innovations produced effective and broadly implemented solutions that reduced translational gaps in chronic care and prevention including blood pressure control and tobacco cessation in primary care. Ongoing interests include agile transformation in healthcare systems, better health for all, and aligning evidence-based interventions with real-world healthcare quality improvement. Dr. Ramly’s research has been supported by federal funding from the NIH (NCATS) and AHRQ (K01, R21, R18, U18) and he regularly serves on AHRQ national scientific grant review study sections and special emphasis panels. He currently serves as Associate Editor for the Journal Human Factors in Healthcare.
