Biography
Tal Oron-Gilad is a full professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management and holds the George Shrut Chair of Human Performance at Ben-Gurion University. She serves as the vice dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. Her research expertise is in human factors engineering, focusing on user-centered design, intelligent systems, and social robots. Her work addresses challenges in interaction design, quality of interaction and user experience, emphasizing mutual understanding and shared communication between humans and systems. As systems become more intelligent and autonomous, her research underscores the complexity of creating effective interactions to ensure seamless collaboration between humans and machines. Tal has authored numerous scholarly articles and conference presentations and has supervised many graduate students, making significant contributions to advancements in her field.
