Professor, Department of Psychology, Arizona State University
Dr. Polemnia (Nia) Amazeen is a Professor of Psychology at Arizona State University, affiliated with the Biosocial Complexity Initiative, the Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity, and the Global Futures Scientists and Scholars. Trained at the Center for the Ecological Study of Perception and Action (Ph.D., University of Connecticut) and postdoctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Dr. Amazeen’s research explores principles of dynamical similitude across human behavior. She leads cross-disciplinary teams analyzing multiscale, multimodal datasets—including physiological, neural, kinematic, and communication signals—to identify patterns and anomalies in complex systems.
