Biography
Dr. Stefan Röttger holds a Ph.D. from the Berlin University of Technology. Since 2009 he serves as a Human Factors specialist, working for the Psychological Service of the German Armed Forces. From 2009 to 2014, his main area of research was the evaluation of different forms of CRM training for naval professionals and bridge teams at the German Naval Institute of Maritime Medicine. From 2015 to 2017, he has been working at the German Armed Forces Office on projects related to the selection and training for psychological resilience. Since 2018 he is the head of the department for Naval Psychology and Ergonomics at the Naval Institute of Maritime Medicine with a research focus on cognitive performance in hyperbaric conditions and circadian watch bill design. He has conducted numerous human-machine interface evaluations for the German Navy. From 2018 to 2020 he was president of the Europe Chapter of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Being a recreational diver and proud owner of a small sailing boat, he enjoys the opportunity to combine his passion for Human Factors with his love for the sea.
