Nathan Klein

Biography
Dr. Nathan Klein is a Principal UX Researcher at State Farm Insurance Companies, with over 15 years of experience in Human Factors. He is passionate about user-centered practices and enhancing user experiences across digital and human channels. Dr. Klein holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Business, a Master’s in Applied Psychology, and a Doctorate in Human Factors Psychology. His work at State Farm focuses on improving experiences for the many different types of users that interact with State Farm for their insurance and financial service needs. He has responsibility for the customer experience research across the shopping, service, and renewal journeys for personal lines, business lines, and financial products. He leads high-performing research teams to generate insights that inform strategic decisions within the enterprise. Prior to transitioning to industry, he worked in academia at Spelman College, guiding students in applied psychology. He still supports education and developing students through guest lectures, lab-tours, and mentoring interns. He is active in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the local Atlanta area HF and UX communities. Outside of work, Dr. Klein founded a 501(c)(3) organization and serves on the boards of two other non-profits supporting and advocating for girls in sports. He enjoys spending time and having fun staying active and outdoors with his wife, LeAnne, and their teenage daughters, Kaya and Kadence.
