Biography
Carla Beckmann is a PhD student in Human Factors in Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL, where her research focuses on helicopter accident investigation and aviation safety. Originally from Germany, she has a background in aerospace engineering and studied psychology in Vienna, Austria. Carla previously served as a helicopter pilot in the German Army, gaining firsthand experience with rotorcraft operations and safety challenges. Beyond aviation, Carla has worked in the legal sector in New York, combining legal expertise with her technical knowledge. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges human factors, aviation law, and accident analysis, with a focus on improving regulations and operational protocols. Passionate about advancing aviation safety, Carla also contributes to research initiatives and publications aimed at mitigating human error and enhancing rotorcraft operational resilience.
