Biography
Dr. Quynh Pham is a faculty member at IHPME and the former faculty lead of Health Informatics Research Emphasis. She concurrently serves as the Scientific Director and Principal Investigator of the Centre for Digital Therapeutics at the University Health Network (UHN). Additionally, she holds scientific appointments at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute and the KITE Institute at UHN, as well as faculty appointments at the University of Ottawa and Waterloo. In 2022, Dr. Pham was recognized as a Woman Leader in Digital Health for her achievements as “a female visionary who is harnessing the power of IT to transform health and healthcare in Canada.”

Dr. Pham is experienced in supervising, designing, conducting, and managing research studies using various qualitative and quantitative methods. She is the Principal Investigator on the Medly MH module project, which involves investigating patient and caregiver needs, co-designing, and evaluating the module.

Committed to advancing a culturally competent digital health research agenda, Dr. Pham champions the use of technology to support ethnic minority communities in achieving equitable health outcomes. Her research interests include culturally competent digital health research and the digitally mediated management of chronic conditions, such as cancer survivorship. Her research program focuses on developing novel digital therapeutics to help patients and families manage chronic diseases. She conducts collaborative research across the digital health innovation continuum, from ideation to impact.

Recently, Dr. Pham has focused on (1) family-centered digital health for older ethnic adults and their family caregivers and (2) student MH stepped-care portals. Her clinical interests include the digitally mediated management of chronic conditions, particularly heart failure, asthma, cancer survivorship, and MH. She leads a research team to design, develop, evaluate, and implement therapeutics that bridge the digital divide and meet the transcultural health and social needs of all people living in Canada and Canadians living abroad.
