Jeffrey C. Joe is a Distinguished Human Factors Research Scientist in the Human Factors and Reliability Department at Idaho National Laboratory. His research skills and expertise are in the areas of human factors research and development, human factors engineering (HFE), human performance improvement, human reliability analysis (HRA), safety culture, organizational development, public energy policy, social, and industrial/organizational psychology. He holds a Master of Science degree in social psychology from the University of Utah. Since starting at INL in 2000, he has also gained extensive business development and project management experience managing U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) projects, and work for others (WFO) and strategic partnership program (SPP) projects for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Duke Energy, and Constellation Energy.

Jeffrey is the current Chair of the IEEE Nuclear Power Engineering Committee (NPEC) Human Factors, Control Facilities, and Human Reliability subcommittee (SC-5). SC-5 is responsible for developing and maintaining consensus engineering standards for the nuclear community.
