James Shim has a Bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology Major/Chemistry and Environmental Conservation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a research staff at the Aging and Neuro-cognition Laboratory, as well as at the Human Factors and Aging Laboratory. He works in the human-robot interaction team and in the blood pressure monitoring research group for people with cognitive impairments. He is passionate about human service, supporting community dinners, tutoring young aspiring teens, and raising funds for various projects such as providing medicine to underdeveloped areas. He looks forward to becoming a pediatrician.
