Srinivasan Parthasarathy
Biography
Srinivasan Parthasarathy, PhD, (M'00) received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee), Roorkee, India, in 1992, the M.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, in 1994, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, in 1996 and 2000, respectively. While at Rochester he spent a year consulting for Intel's Microcomputer Research Laboratory, Santa Clara, CA. He is currently on the Computer Science and Engineering faculty at The Ohio State University. He also holds a joint appointment with the department of Biomedical Informatics. His research interests are in data mining and parallel and distributed computing systems. He has published over 70 refereed technical papers related to these areas. Dr. Parthasarathy is a recipient of the 2024 Ohio State Distinguished Scholar Award, NSF CAREER award, the DOE Early Career Principal Investigator Award, and an Ameritech Faculty Fellowship. His work in the area of bioinformatics has recently received a couple of best paper awards, one at the IEEE International Conference on Data Mining 2002, and one at the SIAM International Conference on Data Mining 2003. He is a member of ACM.
