Dr. Joe McDonald is the Founder and CEO of Jumpseat Research, a Human Factors research and consulting firm based in Austin, Texas. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Human Factors from Georgia Tech with a specialization in Applied Cognitive Science. Dr. McDonald applies human-centered design to improve usability, cognitive workload, and system performance across defense, industrial technology, construction, and infrastructure sectors. His work includes leading initiatives for Fortune 50 companies, startups, and government organizations, and he holds patents in hardware design usability for consumer devices. He is an active member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, focused on advancing human readiness and operational effectiveness through user-centered research.
