Ellen Taylor

Biography
Ellen Taylor, PhD, Vice President for Research, The Center for Health Design. As an architect and researcher, Taylor has advocated for bridging evidence-based design and human factors in designing for patient safety. Her work has included proposing theoretical models to address the complex interactions of the organization, people, and environment, as well as developing research-based design guidance to promote safety and creating tools for risk assessment to proactively assess latent conditions of safety during design. With a focus on patient falls, she will share examples of her work, highlighting both opportunities and challenges.
