Biography
Sandra Alemany received the PhD in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) (2023), M.S. Materials Science Engineer, (2013) and B.A. Mechanical Engineer, (1998). As a researcher of the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV), she was project leader of large-scale anthropometry surveys in Spain scanning more than 9,000 females. Currently, she leads the Anthropometry Research Group at IBV, a multidisciplinary team that combines expertise in anatomy, anthropometry, 3D/4D body scanning and processing, computer graphics, statistics, deep learning as well as the application of this knowledge to product fit, sizing and design. She contributes globally as a member of the World Engineering Anthropometry Resource Association (WEAR), an international group of experts on 3D anthropometrics, and co-chairs the IEA (International Ergonomics Association) Anthropometry Technical Committee.
