Biography
Nora Colman, MD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care. Dr. Colman brings extensive expertise in using simulation-based testing to identify latent safety risks in architectural design, proactively mitigating potential hazards. This approach applies a rigorous risk assessment rooted in patient safety theory and evidence-based healthcare facility design. She has developed tools to implement and evaluate simulation-based testing, ensuring its effectiveness in real-world applications. As a practicing physician, she bridges theoretical frameworks with clinical practice. In this session, she will explore how human factors influence space utilization and highlight the theoretical foundations that connect patient safety, evidence-based facility design, and human factors with the realities of care delivery.
