Rutali Joshi, PhD, Research Lead, Health at HKS Inc. She works directly with architecture teams across a range of healthcare facility design projects internationally to integrate research findings to support the design process. She is passionate about developing visual means to translate complex research concepts and findings into actionable design strategies. She will present her work in emergency departments where she utilized human factors frameworks such as SEIPS in conjunction with spatial analysis using space syntax theory to study the impact of physician workstation design on communication and interruptions during handovers.
