Biography
Tiam Hejazi is a second-year undergraduate student in the Health Sciences program at McMaster University. Over the past three years, he has volunteered at Delmanor Northtown, a retirement community in Toronto, where he has volunteered with residents, facilitating one-on-one meetings and organizing engaging events.
Aspiring to pursue a career in healthcare, Tiam is particularly interested in geriatric care and aims to attend medical school. He hopes to one day use his medical education to improve the quality of care of older adults and contribute to the advancement of healthcare for vulnerable populations.
This summer, Tiam contributed to the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) analysis of the Medly-SOLAR study at the Centre for Digital Therapeutics at UHN. The Medly-SOLAR study has designed an app-based mental health intervention for heart failure patients and their informal caregivers. He is also currently working on a systematic review focusing on frailty in older adults.
