Biography
Anjali Joseph, PhD, Professor of Architecture, Clemson University and Director, Center for Health Facilities Design and Testing. As an architect and environmental design researcher, Joseph utilizes systems engineering frameworks like SEIPS to study ‘work as done’ and to develop environmental design solutions to address challenges in high-risk patient care settings such as operating rooms (OR), patient rooms and emergency departments. She has collaborated extensively with HF researchers and health systems to develop methods and tools to support environmental design research in healthcare settings. She will share examples of her work on OR design, discussing theoretical frameworks and tools that have guided this work.
