Jessica Cruit
Biography
Dr. Jessica Cruit is a dedicated practitioner in aviation safety, weaving together expertise in human factors and systems engineering to help shape the future of aviation training. As a Chief Human Factors Scientist and Senior Systems Engineer at ASTRION, she partners with the Federal Aviation Administration to develop safety-based tools that enhance safety and operational efficiency. With over 20 years of experience, she has led research on how pilots navigate automation, make high-stakes decisions under pressure, and adapt in the face of the unexpected. Her work has influenced policy and training through collaborations with the FAA, NTSB, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force. Beyond her contributions to the industry, Dr. Cruit finds deep fulfillment in mentorship. As a former Associate Research Professor at the University of Central Florida and Instructor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, she has had the privilege of working beside the next generation of aviation safety professionals, being inspired by students who share her passion for applied research.
