Unlocking GenAI Trends: Tell Us How You Use GenAI Tools
SessionPoster Session 1
DescriptionThe rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has significantly reshaped how individuals engage with technology in personal, academic, and professional contexts. AI-powered platforms have introduced new efficiencies in content creation, decision-making, and problem-solving. Despite their growing presence, there remains a need to understand how users interact with these tools, what motivates their adoption, and the challenges they face. This study aims to explore how people use and perceive GenAI tools, focusing on familiarity, usage patterns, and motivations for relying on AI. There were compelling relationships found for the Big Five personality traits and how they influenced how individuals engage with AI technology. The study also found that, regardless of usage or comfort of use, individuals were more likely to seek support from a GenAI tool than another person. Technology readiness also played a role in the willingness to use Gen AI. While AI is a powerful assistant, it should be used responsibly as a complement to human skills rather than a replacement for them. As AI tools become more integrated into education and the workplace, it is crucial to establish clear guidelines that promote responsible use while maintaining the integrity of learning.
