Financial Return On Investment Methods: Case Studies of System-Scale Interventions
DescriptionAs systems thinking is more widely adopted, there is an increasing need for practitioners to be able to present financial Return On Investment (ROI) values on larger-scale projects. Although non-financial systems of capital are increasingly being valued, financial ROI is still an important metric that has been difficult to measure for large, systems-level projects in business and government contexts. This panel brings together professionals with experience across different industries, timescales, intervention types, and international standards and policies to expose practitioners to a wide set of methods and engage researchers on how to pick the best methods for calculating ROI depending on the situation. Each panelist will tie a case study to the underlying framework of identifying and reporting against key metrics of their stakeholders as the basis for the ROI method(s) used that can be leveraged by practitioners to gain important buy-in for larger-scale, systems projects.
