Early Career Insights in Human Factors Engineering Across Academia and Industry: Evolving Perspectives
DescriptionThe goal of this panel is to build upon the success of a similar panel the moderator led during 2024 HFES ASPIRE. The moderator is organizing a panel discussion featuring human factors engineering professionals working across industry, consulting, and academia who are junior to mid-career. As human factors engineering is atypical as a profession, this panel aims to share experiences of junior to mid-career human factors professionals to those looking to begin a career in the human factors engineering space. The panelists will include human factors experts working across a broad range of sectors, who can pull from their experiences to help guide future human factors engineers. The breadth of experience across various professions in human factors engineering will provide unique insights into lessons learned for each of these panelists. Furthermore, it can provide conference attendees interested in learning how these early career human factors professions unique perspectives on the various options available to someone pursuing a human factors career.
